Communique of the 13th CJK IT Standards Meeting

The 13th CJK IT Standards Meeting (CJK13), standards development organizations gathering of Association of Radio Industries and Businesses (ARIB) of Japan, the China Communications Standards Association (CCSA), the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) of Korea, and the Telecommunication Technology Committee (TTC) of Japan took place in Paradise Hotel in Busan, Republic of Korea from 15 to 17 April 2014, hosted by Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA).

CJK IT Standards Meeting is a venue for exchanging key technical standardization information in three countries and to contribute together to the works of standards organizations of regional and global levels. Furthermore, CJK IT Standards Meeting encourages mutual support and assistance among four standards development organizations in order to ensure balanced and mutually beneficial development of standardization in the three countries and to attend to market demands in effective and concerted ways.

During CJK13 meeting, working groups have successfully achieved to share and exchange many knowledge and practical ideas. VoLTE interworking adhoc group was established under IMT working group to investigate and analyze VoLTE interworking issues. The title of UNIoT working group has been changed as IoT-WG (Internet of Things including SDN and Smart City Working Group) to widen its scope. Information Security working group expects to develop some joint contributions among CJK members for ITU-T SG17 at the next WG meeting (August, 2014). Wireless Power Transmission working group reviewed on Technical Report 2 (TR2) modification and the final version has been approved by Plenary. TR2 will be submitted to ITU-R SG1 WP1A as an information paper.

The 13th CJK IT Standards Meeting agreed a principle and procedure for CJK joint adoption of standards among CJK SDOs and common adoption of international standards (e.g. ITU T/R Recommendation).

This arrangement would facilitate to implement the standards in the larger market and increase efficiency among CJK standards development organizations while fulfilling the World Trade Organization Uruguay Round Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade Annex 3 Code of Good Practice for the Preparation, Adoption and Application of Standards.
