Designation as a GlobalPlatform Qualified Laboratory

On November 25, 2014, TTA was officially designated as a qualified laboratory by the GlobalPlatform, an organization for smartcard platform standardization and certification. Established under the leadership of Visa Inc. in 1999, GlobalPlatform is a standardization and certification body for IC chip platforms that support payment applications. At present, Visa Card, MasterCard, ARM, NTT and Oracle are all participating as BOD members. The GlobalPlatform service covers not only existing financial IC cards, but also USIM, mobile devices and TSM (trusted service manager) technologies. Therefore, it is expected to be applied as a key standard technology to NFC mobile payment services in the future. Currently, TTA is providing testing services for financial IC cards and USIMs for mobile NFC payment (UICC) based on GlobalPlatform standards versions 2.1 and 2.2. TTA will actively cooperate with small-scale COS (Card OS) developers and large-scale smartcard manufacturers in Korea, and thus help them in technological improvement and global market entry.
