83rd Technical Assembly Held

On December 17, 2014, the 83rd Technical Assembly was held with several agendas on the plate including adoption of TTA standards. During this assembly, 297 TTA standards including ‘A Common Platform for Network Hardware,’ ‘Production Method for Korean Sound Source for Wide Band/ Super Wide Band Speech CODEC Voice Service Quality Measurement and the Sound Source,’ ‘Mobile Payments Using Transaction Number,’ ‘Security Requirements for the Anti-DDoS Appliances’ and ‘Algorithms to Measure Audio Programme Loudness and True-peak Audio Level’ were adopted and 99 standards that are no longer valid due to revision or substitute standard adoption including ‘Interfaces for the Optical Transport Network’ were abolished. In addition, 3 web-related potential standards including ‘CSS3 Media Query’ were converted to and adopted as general Korean standard in the wake of completion of the related international standards. At the same time, the Assembly decided to recommend 1 standard, which is ‘Smart Plug System,’ for energy saving in terms of power usage monitoring and power control, to be adopted as a national standard.
