TTA hosted the 23rd Technical Plenary(TP23) of oneM2M in Seoul from May 16 to 20 2016. Over a hundred people participated and this TP23 concluded with the finalization of stage 2 architecture development of oneM2M Release 2 that encompasses a range of functionalities including various industrial domain enablement, home domain enablement, semantic interoperability, and interworking functions to expand the domain of IoT by interconnecting various local IoT standards such as AllSeen and OIC. Stage 3 protocol development, which is the final stage of specification development, will be complete by the next meeting in July 2016. In particular, the convener of ISO/IEC JTC1 WG10 was present at the TP23 to suggest interoperability between oneM2M and JTC1, demonstrating that the oneM2M technical standard is positioning itself as a global standard. Meanwhile, the next version of the technical standard, Release 3, aims to ensure the oneM2M technical standard is adopted by the market more rapidly and distributed more widely. For this purpose, Release 3 will focus on the optimizing oneM2M specifications for developers and realizing robust services, while including oneM2M certification specifications to demonstrate interoperability between oneM2M products and services to the market. |
