The 92nd Technical Assembly (TA)

 The 92nd Technical Assembly was held in L-Tower, Yangjae, Seoul on December 13, 2017. The meeting approved 253 new/revised TTA standards in ICT standardization area such as Internet of Things (IoT), information security, mobile communications and etc. The key standards were included core technologies for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (smart cars, tangible contents, disaster safety systems, intelligent robots, IoT, ect.), and life-friendly technologies for convenience of user. In addition, the meeting agreed to propose four TTA standards for the KS (Korean Standard). The meeting also agreed to appoint a chairman (KT President Lee Dong-myeon) and two vice-chairmen (Master Lee Joo-ho from Samsung Electronics and Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Director Kim Hyeong-joon) for next study period (2018-2019). TTA’s outstanding standards and consulting cases were also presented as the association’s 2017 standardization activity highlights, followed by the announcement of the ten key issues on ICT standards in 2018.

 The congress awards ceremony was also held, where seven ICT standards committees and nine committee members were awarded citation plaques for their contributions, and four standards were selected good standards for view of application and implementation for ICT products such as ‘Head Mount Display based Virtual Reality Content Production Guide for Reducing Cybersickness’, ‘Communication System for 5G Trial Service - PyeongChang Olympic Games’ and etc. Other highlights included the Outstanding Consulting Case Award given to both M2M Tech and Next Lab, which produced outstanding performance by taking advantage of TTA’s ICT standards and technology consulting service for small and medium-size enterprises, the Excellent Consultant Award given to Kim Sang-jin, Director at SBS Broadcasting Company, and Awards given to group heads who developed ICT standardization strategic maps for 2018.
