48th CJK IMT WG International Meeting Held

The 48th CJK IMT WG International Meeting was held from January 17 to 18 at the Novotel Ambassador in Busan with about 40 experts in 5G mobile communications standardization from Korea, China, and Japan. At the meeting, the attendants discussed 5G performance requirements, technology evaluation methods, and spectrums. Korea, China, and Japan agreed to submit six joint contributions to the ITU-R WP5D that will be held in Geneva, Switzerland in February 2017. They also shared each nation’s 5G research development and standardization trends in order to occupy the global 5G market in advance. In particular, Korea introduced a plan to submit the ITU 5G candidate technologies included in the Mobile Industry Development Strategy 2.0, drawing much attention from China and Japan.
