LTE 2-CA Radiation Performance Testing Service Commenced
On December 15, 2015, the TTA Mobile Communications Testing & Certification Department commenced LTE 2-CA radiation testing. This testing service is for measuring receiving sensitivity of terminals supporting LTE 2 downlink carrier aggregation while the terminals transmit data concurrently to two downlink carriers. It can be regarded as an indicator for terminal reception performance in carrier aggregation mode. In addition, radiation performance and measurements in the existing single carrier mode are also compared, and thus changes in terminal reception performance according to carrier aggregation can be identified. This LTE 2-CA radiation performance test will be designated as a compulsory test for PTCRB certification from February 2016 as part of the preparations for the internationally accredited CTIA OTA v3.5 test. TTA will renew its qualification as an independent test lab for CTIA OTA v3.5 by February 2016 so as to provide related testing and certification services to the handset and device manufacturers in Korea.
