CTIA International Test Lab Qualification for LTE-TDD Interoperability Obtained
작성일 :
On February 13th, the Mobile Communications Testing & Certification Department obtained CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association) accreditation to be the first Korea-based test laboratory for LTE- TDD interoperability certification testing. CTIA, a non-profit organization representing North American wireless communication and Internet industries, has been providing certification programs for LTE-TDD interoperability by using CTIA designated manufacturer testing laboratories such as those of Alcatel-Lucent and Ericsson. TTA has now become the first 3rd-party testing laboratory designated by CTIA. Based on TTA's achievements, Korean companies developing LTE-TDD products for export to North America will now receive CTIA interoperability tests from TTA and thus be able to considerably reduce the time and costs required in their product development. To obtain CTIA accreditation, TTA has installed LTE-TDD systems, base station and core network equipment since 2013. In addition, through an assessment of the official testing laboratory by CTIA on January 22nd this year, TTA obtained qualification in February to provide the CTIA certification testing service. TTA will provide the service on products of domestic companies according to CTIA's certification testing plans and procedures. By obtaining the testing laboratory qualification, TTA has established a foundation from which domestic companies can secure competitiveness in the global market through expedited certification tests of their products.
