On January 8, the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Quality Logic in the USA for Smart Energy Profile (SEP) 2.0 Interoperability Tests.
The SEP 2.0 is a protocol used to transmit and receive energy information based on various PHY/MAC standards such as IEEE802.15.4 (ZigBee), and IEEE802.11 (Wi-Fi), IEEE1901 (HomePlug). In energy-related internet of things (IoT) markets, it is applied to a wide range of products and systems including smart grids, smart meters (electricity, gas, and water), smart home appliances, electric cars, renewable energies, and building energy management systems. By singing the MOU, TTA obtained qualifications as a SEP 2.0 interoperability testing laboratory in Asia, thereby building foundations to expand its testing services in energy and IT fields and further develop technologies.
