TTA initiates LwM2M Conformance Testing and Certification services
작성일 :
TTA launched the world’s first lightweight machine-to-machine (LwM2M) conformance testing and certification services and granted the first certificates to KEPCO’s e-IoT Platform and KT’s IoT Makers Platform. LwM2M is a technology devised by OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) to manage lightweight and low power devices (sensors, etc.) in various networks that are the basis of Internet of things. In particular, since the second half of 2017, low-power broadband network technologies (NB-IoT, LoRa, etc.) have spread and commercialization of services and products has started in earnest with domestic operators. However, since there is no test certification system, it was difficult to ensure mutual compatibility and reliability. To solve this problem, TTA organized the TTA Verified Testing and Certification Expert Council in August 2017 as part of the Ministry of Science and ICT’s information technology research foundation building project and developed testing methods and certification standards by incorporating local companies’ requests. In December last year, TTA established a TTA standard on conformance testing based on the OMA’s technical documents, followed by the development and validation of conformance testers therefor. The world’s first LwM2M TTA verified testing and certification services are expected to contribute to vitalizing IoT industries locally and help IoT businesses develop global markets and sharpen their global competitive edges.
