- 370 TTA standards adopted, Chair and Vice-Chair for the next term elected -
On December 16, 2015, the 87th Technical Assembly was held with several agendas on the plate including adoption of 370 TTA standards including “IP-based Smart Plug Interface," "Display Scheme of Emergency Alert Using Digital Signage in Indoor," "Standardized Specification of Requirement for Information and Telecommunication Facilities Installation in the Customer Premises," "LTE-based Railway Communication System Requirements (Conventional and High-speed Railway)" and "Parcel e-Waybill Service Reference Model." On the other hand, a total of 199 standards no longer applicable due to adoption of revisions or alternatives were abolished including "B-ISDN" and "Satellite Multimedia Broadcasting Systems; Specification of the Traffic and Travel Information Service Transmission for Satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) to Mobile, Portable and Fixed Receivers." In addition, three TTA standards including "Mobile Application Accessibility Guidelines 2.0" for user environment improvement were selected for recommendation as Korea Communications Standards.
Also at the meeting, Lee Dong-myeon, Vice President of KT, was elected as the chairperson for the next term (2016 - 2017). As for the vice-chair, Choi Sung-ho, Managing Director at Samsung Electronics, and Kim Hyoung-jun, Director of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, were elected. There was also an award ceremony for excellent ICT standardization committees and members as well as small and medium business technical consultants.
