The MirrorLink Plugfest was hosted jointly by TTA and CCC (Car Connectivity Consortium) from October 10 to 14.
Fifteen CCC member companies (25 participants) visited the event including smartphone manufacturers, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, and carmakers and car audio developers/manufacturers such as Volkswagen and Fujitsu. The MirrorLink Plugfest has been held three to four times a year to run compliance and interoperability tests for products enabled in accordance with MirrorLink standards. In particular, to acquire the MirrorLink v1.2 certification that was adopted in July 2016, the applicants must participate in Plugfest’s interoperability test. As an internationally authorized test lab for CCC devices since 2012, TTA acquired the qualification to be the world’s first internationally authorized MirrorLink Application test lab in 2014 to offer test and certification services to companies at home and abroad. The event was a great opportunity for leading smartphone manufactures in Korea to gather and check product interoperability, and it served as a platform for substantial and diverse discussions on test issues. We plan to develop the event into a platform to enhance the test quality of MirrorLink v1.2 and for SMEs (Small and medium enterprise) to get precise and swift certification of their products.
