First in the World to Provide Wi-Fi Miracast<sup>TM</sup> Certification Testing Service

TTA provides Wi-Fi MiracastTM certification testing service starting from September 20. MiracastTM, officially announced by Wi-Fi Alliance on the 19th, is a core technology enabling video streaming services through direct Wi-Fi communication between a wireless device and display equipment. With MiracastTM technology, users can conveniently enjoy watching videos played on their smart phones in a large-screen high definition TV. In addition, games can be played with much bigger TV screen by means of mirroring technology. TTA anticipates that the wireless user environment will advance further through Wi-Fi MiracastTM technology and is planning to provide support so that manufacturers can mount MiracastTM technology in a larger number of products and therefore increase their global ICT competitiveness. TTA, as an the Authorized Test Laboratory equipped with key capabilities for providing various Wi-Fi certification programs including not only MiracastTM, but also 802.11n, WPS2.0TM, Wi-Fi DirectTM, TDLS and PasspointTM, has been supporting domestic manufacturers that are highly competitive when it comes to smart devices and display equipment. In particular, through active cooperation with KCC (Korea Communications Commission) since May this year, TTA has been providing vital technical support to small and medium-sized venture businesses in Korea free of charge that is necessary for development and verification of short range communication products, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee and NFC.
